                                      The Remedial Reading Classroom

THE CLASSROOM PROGRAM TEACHES GROUPS OF STUDENTS

HOW TO IMPROVE THEIR READING SKILLS

The Remedial Reading Classroom incorporates peer teaching - one of Dr. Grant Von Harrison's most important discoveries. Peer Teaching, called Paired Practice in this program, has proven successful in years of empirical study and research. It is now an integral part of the Remedial Reading Classroom. Students interacting and teaching each other accelerates success. Speed, accuracy and retention are all improved.

With The Remedial Reading Classroom you have:

  • A scientifically researched reading program that has been developed over 30 years by Dr. Grant Von Harrison, Professor of Education at Brigham Young University.
  • A totally sequential teaching system using Dr. Von Harrison's EASY-STEPS Phonetic Reading System.
  • You may teach as many as 24 students at the same time, or as few as two.
  • Teacher directed Group Instruction and student directed Paired Practice. Students use the prepared Paired Practice Books.
  • Stories, vocabulary development, and comprehension are integrated into each lesson.
